Christmas (Fairy) Lights?

Now, this isn't as easy as it sounds, but I want some new christmas lights.
But - I don't want plain bulbs, or any chunky, kitsch, modern lights - I want some old-fashioned delicate and pretty lights like my Great Gran used to have - victorian lanterns and the such.
I've been hunting for years - I found one Pifco set about 10 years ago, but none since, and my one set isn't very big.
I can find the original old ones on eBay for silly money, but they are generally collectors items rather than working lights.
Are they around these days?

Not sure these are what you're after but this website has a few different lantern style lights. Their prices seem reasonable but I've never used them so can't vouch for how good they are.
I quite like these antique oil lamp style ones but they're a bit too expensive for me.:smileyhea0 -
try looking out for Noma lights

Garden centres sell them and they
have them on the Noma site.0 -
Sorry I'm unable to help, but you just made me think of my nan's christmas lights. They were made by Pifco too, and the box was lovely, with little fairies all over it! Also, there was a price sticker on them for 2/6, (i think) which I couldn't understand at all! Thinking about it though, they were probably a death trap, she only stopped using them about 10 years ago!Total debt £20,000 Northern Rock loan:eek:

Thank you all
I'll have a look for the Noma ones - I do like to see them in the flesh before buying, although at least now I have a price comparison on the links.
Neveranymoney - if your Nan still has the lights, take a look on eBay. I sold a boxed set of Pifco Cinderella Carriages for my mum last year for over £30 - heartbreaking as they were such beautiful lights, but as you say, no longer safe to use.DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0
