  • hi guys,,,
I have read your case.First of all you did a mistake by flossing the teeth.(Flossing in between your teeth removes food debris and plaque from in between the teeth that a toothbrush can't reach.)Yeah it is normal but don't keep touching it or else you are going to break it.

BTW everyone, Superdrug have an offer on the interdental brushes at the mo, think they have 2 packs for £1.99. But if you have a 25% off feedback survey voucher, it's only £1.50!

It makes non sense at all ... but derwin appears to be advising people to floss the gaps ... not correct. You should be using floss to mechanically clean the sides of your teeth which are not accessible to a brush.

Well done, I couldn't make head nor tail out of what derwin said
  • Well I tried the brushes and couldn't seem to get them in between my teeth. They were 0.45mm I wonder if they make thinner ones than those? :/
Anyway luckily I had some floss tape and that seemed to do the trick. I have to say my morning breath wasn't as horrific as it can be (think wallpaper stripping!) so I assume I am doing some good.
My OH never has bad breath in the morning and he smokes AND drinks coffee incessantly! :(

The smallest size is 0.4mm (usually pink). But there are also the wire-free interdental brushes that many of my patients prefer. So far as I know three companies make them - Corsodyl, Wisdom and Periproducts. There is no diference in the sizes between the brands but as they all taper to a point and the rubber is flexible they are better for tight spaces.

I've seen them in Boots, Superdrug, Tesco, Asda, Wilkinsons etc. Your dental practice may also stock them.
  • I had no success using the tepe brushes -even the smallest size wouldn't fit between my teeth.

Flossing with ordinary stuff was no good either, very awkward, but I have had more success with Plackers - like a tooth pick with a length of floss across the end.
