Safety question - help asap pls

I am afraid I have been putting wet pans on my oven hobs, and they have got rusty.

Please can someone tell me how to clean them.

Has the rust corroded them and made them unsafe?

When I asked about a safety issue with oven hobs, could I have just been a bit over cautious? oven seems to be working ok.
