anybody know how to make money at home?

Options
does anybody know a genuine way to earn some extra cash at home or online. I am at home with my daughter and have tried surveys but they are only once a month and you have to build up a good amount before you get a cheque, and some websites i have visted to make extra money are always wanting something upfront which is never guaranteed to work. Can anybody help?

Hi Piesporter, I am at home too although my 2 children are both at school now. I do a bit of mystery shopping although that takes a while to build up as some companies take a while to register you etc. I also do a job once a week doing price checking which is with a company that also does mystery shopping. The MS work is very flexible as you pick and choose which jobs you want to do to fit into your schedule. The price checking job is only once a week, I've only just started it but apparently I'll be in store for an hour or so and the rest of the time will be at home scanning the catalogue and uploading the information back to the company.

I've also started selling things on Ebay, I'm still trying to find out what I could regularly sell at a profit but at the moment I'm just selling things I dont need etc. Those are the 3 jobs I do. I'm hoping that in total they will bring in about £500 a month.

    Hope this helps :)

You might find the "great bit on the side hunt" thread in the mortgage free wannabe forum helpful...sorry can't do links...
  • Have you looked at doing AQA work? See https://www.issuebits.com and click on vacancies. I've checked today and they don't need UK researchers, but check regularly.

Also, as someone has suggested, mystery shopping. But you do have to register as self employed with the tax office within 3 months otherwise you get a fine. You have to pay £2.10 per week national insurance and then tax on top, so really look into it properly as I have found some jobs just don't work out as making any profit at all.

I do all of those things but find it too sporadic and I need a fairly consistent income. My most reliable source of income is from being a catalogue agent, tbh. Best bit is that I can do it when I like.
