Someone asked before but no-one answered and pregnancy brain has me questioning my sanity. Do these TVs require an external aerial cable to work? I ask as I was thinking of buying one as a gift but I know for sure that the room it would go in doesn't have an external aerial.0

Yes it as free view built in, or you could use sky if it was in that room.Someone asked before but no-one answered and pregnancy brain has me questioning my sanity. No Sky and no aerial so does that mean it can't be done? I know there's an old portable in the room but the reception especially on Five is terrible so not sure if a getting a portable aerial would be any good?
Thanks for the info :beer:0 -
Other than feeding an aerial wire in, i can't think of anything else tbh.0

I had one of these TVs last year (actually I had 3 but I ended up getting a refund in the end after the 3rd one broke) and we could only use it for watching DVDs on, as we had no external aerial into our bedroom. I bought one of those booster aerial things but it did no good at all, we couldn't get any picture (and we are in a Freeview good reception area as our main TV downstairs has Freeview built in). We rang an aerial company for advice and they said they would have to drill into the bedroom from the outside and put a cable from the main roof aerial, so we never bothered - too much of a faff.0 -
Its actually easy to do yourself. I did ours , I m not a DIY buff just a stay at home mum. just fit the booster to the main aerial cable, sort where you need cables and connections and hide them with self adhesive cable trunking or cable coving.0
