New Look recently changed their returns policy re sale items exchange only now, quite a few people got caught out by this at christmas.
Returns to Store
Products delivered to a UK address can be returned to any UK New Look store for an exchange or refund within 28 days of receipt. Please note that with effect from 26 December 2010 our refund policy on sale items changed. Sale items purchased on or after this date will be eligible for an exchange only. Exchanges can be made for any New Look product up to the same value. Sale items purchased before 26 December are eligible for an exchange, credit vouchers or refund if returned with a receipt within 28 days of purchase (or up to 31 January 2011 if purchased as a gift.) Without a receipt an exchange or credit vouchers to the value of the current retail price will be offered. Your statutory rights are not affected. Please ensure you bring your payment card and the dispatch note with you as proof of purchase. We will refund the full price you paid for the products, in pounds sterling, using the same method you used to pay for them. If you used PayPal as you payment method we are only able to refund you in store by issuing New Look credit vouchers. If you wish your refund to be credited back to your PayPal account you will need to return the products to us by post in accordance with the provisions0 -
I successfully returned sale items bought online after Christmas... the Distance Selling Regs override their policy (within 7 days)! Worth bearing in mind.

Also, see the Paypal bit above. At least if you pay with Paypal and return outside the DSR cooling off period you'll be given vouchers - or you can return by post.

I hate having to exchange something there and then because (a) I usually haven't got time to browse and (b) sod's law says that I won't see ANYTHING I like in the store on that day! lolGet to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

I posted on another thread re this, I bought mine after December 26, 3 purchases at 3 different stores and not one person on the tills advised me of this new policy, only found out when I went to return items. I have been a long time customer of New Look but this has changed my shopping with them, so its their loss and my gain as I will have more money in my pocket. Most of the stuff I used to buy was sale products as I find their full priced stock over priced. I was told they publicised this change, strange if they publicised it so well so many people knew nothing about it and when I queried in a few days after the change the so called "highly publicised banners" had all gone even though the sale was still in full swing. Like you when I asked re the signs in one store they were behind the till in normal size print so no way to read the changes, in another there were 3 signs between 8 tills, the signs looked no different to the type of signs you are used to seeing there so until pointed out to me I had not read or even noticed these. Very naughty to change the policy on the biggest sale day of the year in such a way. I was advised other stores had also changed their policy to the same, but I am yet to find one. If anyone knows any others that have recently changed policy please advise. I now ask in every store when purchasing just to make sure they havent changed their policy.0 -
