You could contact the secondary school your son's primary is associated with and speak to the school librarian there to see if they have any events planned for the day that your school could be involved with. Normally these sort of events events are organised through the Scottish Book Trust's Live Literature Funding - I doubt if you'll get an author without funding. I would've thought it would be organised more formally by teaching staff, through the authority - sounds an odd thing to land a parent with, as all sorts of checks have to be made for school visits.

ooh, is it the main news? We get Grampian over here, with Andrea Bremner, then it splits into Dundee and Aberdeen, don't think we'll get to see you after all - maybe they will put it online and you can post a link later?
