  • There is no standard answer to this, and it depends almost entirely on things that are personal to you and we don't know about.

    One person will find it appropriate to have a single "Managed Fund" covering all sorts of assets. Others prefer a 'specified mix' of, say, a bit of Asia, a bit of UK, a bit of commodoties, a bit of property, a bit of bonds...... Equally legitimate, but then if taken too far, you end up with something similar to a single 'vanilla flavoured' lazy investor managed fund.
  • Having said that, I should point out that the value of your pension fund over time is a function of two things. Primarily it is a function of the the fund choices you made. To a lesser (but still very significant) extent, it is a function of the fund charges.

    I'd say a function of three things - the level of contributions paid in is extremely important, probably more important than either of the two items above.
