Setting up a forum

The biggest problem with running your own forum is moderating comments imo, with a big community it can be a bit of a bind tbh. Wonder why you are setting up a forum, if you are trying to monetise your knowledge then forums can be an energy pit, which can be better spent finding ways to meet your customers needs.
If you are interested I might be able to help suggest ways to monetise your niche? Dont worry I am not interested in stealing your niche, I have a few of my own to run! PM me if you don't want all to see.0 -
I agree with using phpBB, but one problem you'll have is finding mods willing to moderate for free. If you don't have the right protection you'll find your forum spammed to death by xrumer and the like!0

If you want a decent forum, I would strongly suggest IPB - very good at preventing spam as well.0
