Where to buy pencil grips for children?

Hi,

I want to buy pencil grips for my 5 year old. Any recommendations on what type and where I can buy 1?

Thanks.

  • They used to do these in Early Learning Centre, not sure if still do though as it is a number of years since my two needed them. I think they do them in most places like Wilkinsons, Asda, Tesco, Partners, in fact I would think most places that sell stationery would have them.

  • hi

they arent the best ones but they might do till you find some more, in our woolworths a little while ago they had triangle colouring pencils with these grips on, they are removable so i took them off and put them on their writing pencils. They were a set of 10 or 12 for £1.24

    hope that helps

Thanks for both replies. Will check out the stationery section this weekend when we do our grocery shopping.

    Cheers.

The triangular type are supposed to give you the best writing position -they are in ELC but there are round ones with wooden pencils in tesco which are still good as grips but presume as they are 5 you want something to make them hold the pencil in a better position.

The ELC ones are great - my little ones used these when they were small. ELC also do triangle shaped colouring pencils

The Crayola triangle shaped colouring pencils are chubbier (better if your child has bigger hands)- these were excellent at helping mine to colour and write better - Amazon has them, (Crayola Mini Kids - Triangular Pencils (6 Pack) £1-49), but Woolworths or Tescos would do them too.
  • You can buy pencil grips from my site at letmelearn .co .uk I am a teacher and private tutor and I also sell resources to help children who struggle with learning i.e dyslexia. I offer very good prices and reasonable and free postage costs. Hope you find that helps.
