Halifax Loans - Beware!
Re Halifax Personal Load
The company I work for recently changed my pay day and this caused problems with certain bill payments. One of these is my Halifax personal loan.
After calling the telephone banking number I eventually got through to someone to explain my dilemma - After explaining the problem I was told that since my loan payment date had previously been changed ( a few years ago) it could not be changed again. I was astonished that in this day and age this is the case. A term of a loan can be anything from 12 months to 25 years and to be told that you can only change the payment date once in the term of a loan regardless of the length of the term is quite ridicules - how can they expect nothing to change in ones life over a term of several years, that is short sighted and very unprofessional.
I do my best to meet payment dates and to find I am now put it a situation which is beyond my control I am forced into a position where I am likely to default which will have huge consequences on my financial situation!
My income and out-goings is extremely tight and I have no choice to say as I am – I have no where to turn!

Phone back, find someone who is helpful & "persuade" them to sort this out as your circumstances have changed.
Sometimes if you had a problem with one customer service rep, you phone back get someone else who is helpful, they sort out problem in an instant.
Phone back few times, asking nicely.
If not successful phone back in frustrated/angry mood & ramp up pressure !!
Persistance & being angry WILL pay off, unfortunately.0 -
we are in the exact same situation with my girlfriends loan.
The halifax just will not budge. She has started a new job and the halifax not allow her to move the date by 6 days. Its a joke.
What happens to people who have a 25 year loan with them and they move jobs more than once.
I told the manager on the phone that we will meet the payment date somehow but I will be switching all of our ties with the halifax elsewhere
Their loss in the end.0
