I have to agree that the employer seems to show utter contempt for their staff - and their customers!0 -
You couldn't be more right! They don't give a toss about their customers, it's shocking. I'm itching to get out!!0

Whats the product?
If they are making money with 30% returns there must be a market for a rival that can improve the supply quailty.0 -
Problem in that situation would be that the OP will have to remove the ear protection to answer the phone.
The OP would take longer to answer the phone, as they would leave their station and answer once in the designated area. Obviously she should not be required to work without protection, but if they are unable to reduce the noise then I don't see any other way.
If the company are happy to put the phone on 'engaged' over lunch I doubt they are the type to complain it isn't answered in 3 rings. If challenged then the answer is: 'It is the only way I can perform the duties you have assigned me, whilst protecting my own health and safety'."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." Today I mentioned the ear protection problem again, I was told they couldn't change any equipment or introduce vibration/mobile phones and that I need to keep an eye on the screen to see when it lights up. Taking the P*** or what!0

well if you don't like it put a grievance in on the safety aspect, it will !!!! your bosses off and could cause you problems but at least you will have made it official rather than just moaning about it on hereThe Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
