Hmmm where do I stand....

I purchased a projector from Dell through Quidco. My only earned income (very modest 'cos I am disabled) is from self employment and this was a big purchase out of my savings. The offer was for a 40% + 6% discount to Quidco members on a specific machine that was already quite reduced in price.
I actually wrote to Quidco before purchase to check my understanding - and 'cos it seemed too good to be true............ You've guessed it!!
The purchase was wholly on-line but hadn't tracked. I raised an earnings query and Quidco took it up with Dell. After a few months, Dell agrees but has only offered £31+ instead of the £280 (ish) it should have been.
Quidco are tackling them again but I fear the worst.... Feeling a little 'conned' by Dell but cannot see how to progress any solution or where I have any consummer protection...........
Please come back to me, good buddies, with any ideas or legal protection stuff......
Cheers
Mary

Mary, this might be best asking in the Quidco threda in the referral forum.
I reember hearing about this particularly deal a while back. I am unsure what else Quidco can do, I was in a similar position myself a few weeks back for Lloyds insurnace I cancelled the insurance in the end a went for a reweal insurance with Lloyds although itw as cheaper than taking anew insurance quote out.
I hope you do get your money. Best of luck Mary0 -
Hi Poppycat!
Thanks for your reply but I cannot find a Quidco link....... Any hints & tips to find it would be welcomed..............

Your complaint is with Quidco rather than Dell really. Quidco are simply an affiliate of Dell through programmes like Tradedoubler... the difference between quidco, for example, and say this site (which also has a few affiliate links/ adverts) is that quidco choose to give you the commission (for the £5 annual membership fee) rather than keeping it themselves.
Unsurprisingly quidco wont pay it out of their own pocket and then pursue Dell but it is them you should chase as your contract on the cashback element was with them and not dell... your contract with dell is simply for the sale of the goods at the listed price (which obviously you have paid and received)All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
