HMRC Rocks!

DP filled out his self assessment and submitted it on Tuesday, and pleased to say we had a nice refund!
It is now sitting in DP's bank! we cannot believe how quick that came! Can anyone else beat 3 days for their refund!!

Yes - you should never ever lend money to HMRC so you should never get a refund. It is highly inefficient.

Get your code number adjusted during the year or reduce your payments on account. It is far better for you for you to owe the government and leave the cash on deposit until until the very last payment date.
  • Actually, it is from when my partner went to employed to self emloyed and where he had not hit the tax threshold and it is a genunine over payment.
