It is not worth signing up for the free trial, check the press, difficult to get ou of the contract.
Go on the websites of Experian and Equifax and get the statutory reports for £2, no contractI am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. i already done the free 30day trial thing! I did that with the intention of cancelling before the 30days etc but what problems am i likely to face with that? I didn't realise you could get one off reports for £2...prob should've looked more into credit reports but hey ho, its done now.0

If the cancellation has been done properly you will have no issue. If not you could have a battle to get it stopped.
The £2 statutory reports are a relatively new thing and are not publicised by the credit agencies who want you to subscribe.
If you have confirmation the cancellation has been done you should be fine.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. cool, i've just checked and it seems i will need to ring them to cancel it so maybe i'll request confirmation via email or letter as well when i do it. I can record the phonecall too but maybe a bit extreme???
It would have been nice to know i had the option of a one off report as i did one years ago but as you say they don't advertise this well and i assumed that subscribing was the only way to do it now.
I've got about 25days left to use the information etc. Got reminders set in my phone a good few days before to remind me to cancel it!
Cheers again!0 -
Subscribing is promoted by this site as a way of a free report, or often with cashback sites as a way to get paid to check!
Whilst this is a way of getting a free report in theory, the reality is that people have been stuck with the subscriptions.
The £2 stat report is the easiest way in my opinion.
As long as you make sure it is cancelled you should be ok. Use it now whilst you have it.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
