Hi
Have had several letters from MH ref a LLOYDSTSB debt which I am pretty sure is statued barred. Advice I recieved from here was ignore it which I did last letter was July 2010.
Recieved a letter last week from Aktiv Kaptial asking me to contact them to repay which I again ignored. This morning I recieved a letter offering to reduce the debt by 35% discount to help you pay the account.
Now do I continue to ignore them or do I send a prove it letter, followed by request coppies of the original credit aggrement or do I just sent them the statued barred letter?
Your thought and advice gratefully recieved
thanks

Are you sure it's statute barred? If not, how long do you reckon it would be until you can be?
To be honest, if they are already making "discount offers", then it sounds fairly likely that they know it's not legally enforceable.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I am 90%certain its at least 6 years since last payment or acknowledgement.0

Up to you really then. Honestly, unless court action looks imminent, then I would be inclined to ignore them.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Agreed. Ignore, or send off the statute barred letter (don't supply your signature on that letter, though) via recorded delivery.0

Hi Again
Had several more letters from AK on a similar note as the last, today had a letter from Buchanan Clark and Wells Sating formal deman they have been instructed by AK to recover the debt on there behalf and that they would prefer to settle amicable but will not hesitate to take legal proceedings if require.
As of now I have taken advice from here to ignore the letters. Is this just anothe idle scare tactic?
Many thanks
