Tesco claiming wine has won awards when it hasn't

Has anyone ever checked that the awards Tesco Wine by the Case say a wine has won have actually been awarded? In the January mag, the McWilliams Hanwood Estate 2007 Riesling shows as having a Decanter 2008 WWA Bronze - not true (checked with the producer). They claim the Bodegas Santa Ana Sauvignon Blanc 2009 has won a Gold Decanter 2010 WWA - not true (checked on Decanter website). Why would they do this?

Is the Santa Ana this one? http://www.decanter.com/wine/finder/Bodegas-Santa-Ana--Sauvignon-Blanc--Maipu--Mendoza--Argentina/73718
It does say something about a regional award.0 -
That's the one. However, in the Tesco Wine by the Case January mag they claim it's won a Gold award. I figure that a wine that has won medals is going to be worth a try but if Tesco's are just making these awards up (or innocently getting them wrong) how can I trust them?0

Have you put all this to Tesco?
I would love to know what they have to say.0 -
Rang their helpline - they assured me the Riesling had won a bronze. I checked this with Decanter & the producer - not true. This made me check a few others. I wrote (snail mail) to them a week ago & am waiting for an answer. Like you, I'm curious what they will (can) say.0

Update - Tesco's still insisting I'm wrong despite me having email from the producer saying THEY are wrong & Decanter website contradicting them. Anyone got any ideas where can I go from here?0
