Has anyone had any recent experience of Tesco Solar?

Just wondering about their timescales?

I called them for a solar PV quote back in November, they asked if we would be able to have it fitted within the next couple of months (I said yes). They booked the survey for 6+ weeks later. The surveyor said that the quote would be with us within 2 weeks but they were turning them around in about 4 days. After two weeks there was no sign of a quote so I called and they said that it hadn't been done yet. Still waiting... I wonder how long before they would install.

Do they always take this long?

Another company came out two days after I contacted them and sent a quote the next day - I'd much rather give them our business as we had a personal recommendation for them and I think they use higher quality panels etc but need something to compare it to first. Would you give up on Tesco and get in touch with some other companies? Any recommendations in the South East?

Phoned up and they took all took my details and said they would arrange a survey for the following Wednesday no one turned up phoned up and was told they had no record and would ring back the next day. again no phone call they are utter crap.

Oh, they did eventually get back to us!
Right at the beginning of March they left a message saying that if we were still interested they would get the quote to us by mid March. I ignored it and a few days later they left another message saying that the quote was done and that they were sending it to us by Royal Mail, 1st class, that day. I had a little giggle that they were making a point of the 1st class postage.
They also followed up the quote a week or so ago - after we'd already had a system fitted. The quote took about 4 months to come through in the end.

So did you go with Tesco in the end or did you get someone else in?
