Safe to use on anything where you want to get grease/grime off the item. Except natural stone - such as granite, limestone - you have to be more careful with the strength - must be diluted.

i read the thread about using amonia in the oven but im not too keen on that :S

Amonia sounds a bit drastic to me too, although it seems to work for others. Have a look at this thread for more ideas on cleaning ovens: what's the best way to clean my oven

managed to get to wood green today - poundland didnt have the stardrops or the cloths, was going to pick up a couple of other things but the queue was stupid!
found them in savers - cleaned the outside of the toaster, kettle, tassimo, washing machine, dishwasher, oven and dryer!
was brill except theres grime on the handle of the oven thats not shifting and at small area of the toaster so will have to think of something else for that but definatly a worthwhile buy
clths were about 80p each and a bottle of stardrops was about 70p!

its one of the trouser press irons, its not the metalic surface thats the problem ive always managed to clean that fine but the matt white plastic that acutally makes up the iron, the shiny white substances dont have a problem i managed to get everything off with the stardrops but the matt it just doesnt shift
i know it doesnt make a difference to the use of the iron but would like it to be a bit cleaner
