Hsbc ERC (Great Mortgage Company)

My current fix ends on the 28th Feb 2011 which is currently 6.79% I was a FTB with 10% Deposit, so i have arranged to fix into a 5 year fixed at 4.79% starting 28th Feb. I signed the paper work etc and returned and today they are taking the £199 BF, i just had a call from the Mortgage department and they advised me that my ERC today is £95, and that i could save just shy of £50 if i agreed to the ERC as i would go on to my next fixed rate a month earlier, and even though i have the ERC to pay ie £95 my repayments would be £600pm at new rate as apposed to the £750 i am currently paying.

I have to say, i thought this was really good, as although its only £50 saving, its £50 in my pocket. I also have to say, in the time i have had the Mortgage with HSBC, from application until present they have been great, I can not compare to other Lenders as i was a FTB, however i would certainly recommend HSBC.

Myself and my partner were at HSBC last night applying for a mortgage, we have to wait for it to get checked to go through, but the customer service we have received so far has been great.

I know they are strict on who they lend to, but it seems to be to be a good thing, they went through all our outgoings with us to make sure we can afford the re-payments on the mortgage. Hopefully meaning we would never be given a mortgage we would end up struggling with.

Fingers crossed they approve us now :)

I have been with HSBC for three years and my experience of my dealings with them have all been positive.

There will be people who have problems,of course, but I'm not one of them.

Good Luck, like i say, i can only praise them from start to finish very professional. Also i have an old Default at the time, they said providing i pay it in full from my HSBC account that day (o2 phone contract) they would approve the Mortgage, so i did and they did. Great company!
