Sun Advent win but no prize

I need advice regarding a Sun advent win that has not materialised. I was contacted by the Sun to say I had won a Holiday with their advent competition and that the third party would contact me with details and arrange deilvery of the prize.
I have had no contact.
What I have now done is to contact the Sun, via email, who have sent a standard response, followed by another response saying they would look into it, but by whom and when was not stated.
I have looked at the web site of the Prize company and the prize offered no longer appears on there site as one of the holidays they offer.
I beleive I have done all I can at the moment.

Just one thing, due to some of the T&C's restricting time to take the holiday and the fact they no longer offer the holiday and they have not bothered to contact me, I have asked for a 'cash alternative'.

Do you all think that this is fair of me to ask for this cash alternative, and/or what would you do in this situation.

    When was the last email sent i.e. how long ago? If it's been over a week, then contact The Sun again since you won with them. Good luck.

  • A lot of comp T's and C's state that no cash alternatives will be offered but you can maybe ask for an extension as to when the holiday can be taken or an alternative holiday of equal value if the original holiday is no longer available.

    Hope you do manage to get an alternative, I'm sure you should. I'm in a similar situation whereby the holiday I won the resort isn't suitable for people with mobility problems. It is with Times Online & their marketing agency are being really helpful & looking at what they can offer me as an alternative.

  • Hope you manage to sort it out, it is terrible when your looking forward to something and it doesnt seem to be materialising. I won a holiday back in September which im still no nearer to booking and keep getting passed from person to person, but im sticking with it, keep at them as im sure the sun would sort something out for you. good luck x
