We are originally from NW Ireland, living in London for over 40 years.
Only been to Belfast for a few weekends and we liked what we saw though don't really know the place but from what we did see we have no doubt we could be happy there.
What we have in mind is a two bed apartment,
Easy excess to City Airport, shops, pubs,& restaurants.
Good Security as will be empty for up to a month at a time.
Secure parking.
Safe area.
Price range > Value for Money > £220000 Down.
I would appreciate any ideas as to where i should be looking please.

Try www.propertynews.com for listings of all the properties for sale over here.
For easy access to the airport, plus good pubs and shops I would try Holywood, not strictly Belfast, but just a couple of miles from the city Airport, and excellent pubs, shops, coffee shops etc!DJWW - cos we won't let it!0 -
that is a brilliant thread title!
but yes i would agree, holywood sounds like it would suit your needs!0 -
What about an apartment in the Obel Tower? (stick it in to the propertynews website mentioned above). You're very close the "cathedral quarter" which has lots of nice bars and restaurants and it's handy to the city airport. There's a 17th floor 2 bedroom apt on there for £175k and you'd have the most amazing views! Otherwise I like the apartments at custom house square but they may be a bit noisy.0

titanic quarter might be worth a look?
Cheers, Des.0 -
Titanic quarter, Holywood Road or Holywood itself0

So, will we all get an invite to 'The Sexy's' house warming party?
You just gotta want to meet em!DJWW - cos we won't let it!0 -
Obel is in a bad spot though, not v. safe at night I would imagine. Ditto the Titanic Quarter - would you walk around there at night???
OP - try Saint Anne's Square http://www.saintannessquare.com/ - nice spot, beside the forthcoming MAC arts centre and St Anne's Cathedral and the Cathedral Quarter (lots of bars and restaurants etc) and right beside the main shopping area.
Stranmillis is a lovely area too, right beside the river and towpath, Queen's University etc. Not so close to the city centre but only about a mile away!
Also, haggle like mad on the prices!!! Property prices here are continuing to fall so drive a hard bargain.
Good luck - and I expect an invite to the housewarming too!

Good point, and one reason why I would never buy an apartment (didn't we used to call them flats...).Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs
