    Well I can hardly see how you can say my car would be worth only £100 if it didn't have the problems it has being that they normally fetch about £700.

    £600 seems steep!

    Car sounds totally knackered :)

    OP even if you resurrect it this year it will be a lot worse next. I reckon once you start welding you are very close to the end of the road.
  • I agree, I had an xr2 and every year it needed more and more welding, once they start going you're better off getting shot.
    Nothing to see here, move along.

    :rotfl::rotfl:

    Without problems =£700.
    Repairs needed = £600.
    As is = £100.

    Looks like a bit of simple subtraction to me.:)
  • Pssst..I'm bound to be attacked for sounding like a spelling/grammar Nazi, but when I make mistakes I'd rather have them pointed out for future reference, so heregoes :)

    The term is write off, as in "written off" ;) HTH.

    I know it won't let me correct it though, if an admin could?

    I phoned a local back street garage, I told him I was quoted £450 for the welding alone, he seemed slightly surprised and said "that seems a bit excessive" but he can't look 'till Wednesday

    A) Things that are misspelt/heard perpetuate the problem; IE I know a lot of people who believe the term "should of" is correct, rather than should've.

    B) I'd rather someone told me.

    And the OP seems to have taken it as it was meant, so jobs a good 'un.

    :)
