HFO harrassing my eldery parents even though I left home 20 years ago!

I'm being chased for a debt by HFO.
I have sent a CCA as discussed on this thread but am waiting for a response from them.
They called me yesterday and I told them firmly that I was not prepared to discuss the matter over the phone so they called my parent's home this morning.
I am fuming as they told my father I won't respond to them and basically put the frighteners on him by saying they are taking me to court and will visit his home.
This is after he told them that I moved out in 1991.
He has asked me to call them but I fear I will be playing into their hands.
I will send them a letter about harrassing myself and now my parents but is there more I can do?

Report them to the OFT, Consumer Direct and the Financial Ombudsman Service. If they're still in default via the CCA request, then HFO should NOT be contacting you at all, and certainly not by phone.

If your father has a recording device to hand (even a mobile with a record facility would do it), then tell him to tell HFO - next time they call - that if they call that house again in any capacity, he'll be contacting the police.

There's a telephone harassment letter somewhere on this site that he can send to them. That's all he has to say to them.

    What thread?

1991? Was there 6 years during which you didn't pay or acknowledge the debt in writing?

I meant other threads on this website.
I'm not denying I owe the money but it's about £3k more than I remember owing and I think the last payment was made around 2006.
I'm more than happy to pay my debts but I'm not going to be harrassed and bullied and neither should my poor parents.
