Are you wearing a veil?

I don't know whether to wear one or not? I'm only getting married at the registry office would it be too much? I quite like the look of the fasicnators but wonder if they are 'bridal' or not.
If I do decide to get one, anyone got any recommendations?
Thanks

No reason why not - if you want one go for it. What style of dress are you wearing? That will affect the kind of veil that will suit, as will your hairstyle.
Fascinators are great too, and yes they do look bridal. You could even attach a small birdcage veil, or some fascinators have these already.
I was considering wearing a veil, but probably more of the birdcage style than the traditional two-layer one. I've kind of gone off the idea now though, as I don't think it would go with the other decorations I'm wearing in my hair!

If you want to wear one, i dont see why not. I do believe fascinators do look bridal and are lovely. You can get some really nice ones. Personally i cant stand veils so i am not wearing one i am just having a tiara. I think they are just a waste of money for a bit of material (But thats my personal opinion). You go with whatever feels right for you x

Found a bit of general info for you:
Here is a guide to the different lengths of veil available: http://www.theweddingveilshop.co.uk/id153.html
Birdcage veil images: http://images.google.co.uk/images?q=birdcage%20veil&biw=1024&bih=578
Mantilla veils: http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl=en&biw=1024&bih=578&tbs=isch%3A1&sa=1&q=mantilla+veil&aq=f&aqi=g5g-m5&aql=&oq=
Can't think of any other styles at the mo, but I hope that helps!
BTW, a lot of veils you can make yourself - check out youtube for tutorials. Or buy from ebay or preloved etc, as bridal shop prices will make you faint

Hi LaurensMummy (wedding twin :j).
I'm getting married at the register office too, and I'm wearing a veil.
I felt it worked better with my dress, makes me feel as if my shoulders are covered (even if it's only sheer).
I agree with the other posts, just because it's not a church wedding, this isn't a reason not to wear a veil.
I would go with what makes you feel good
:grinheart It's Mrs Coupon now - saving and comping my way to a brighter future :grinheart0 -
I had originally wanted one, maybe even a catherdral length one (to act as a detachable train!).
But I want nice detail on the back of my dress & want a nice half up half down hair do, so the veil would cover it up.
Plus I'm getting marries outdoors, not in a church, so it would be a bit formal.
I think now I'll just go for a tiara or some sort of sparkly clip.0 -
Thanks for the ideas ladies.
I love the look of the birdcage veil, think I'll have to try a veil on and just see what it looks like, as I have shoulder length hair and fringe:eek: so not sure what to do with my hair yet!0 -
I am getting married in a church and plan on having a veil but haven't bought it yet. I dont see why you can't wear a veil if you can find a style that you like and that goes with your outfit - go for it!0

I thought about a veil but when I tried by dress on with the tiara and jewellery decided it would be too much. My dress is strapless with a full skirt and train and has all over silver glittery star burst design.
No reason why you can't have one if you find something you like and it goes with your dress/hairstyle etc.No longer ...tobe! Married 20/06/13MFW 2021 #117 £5415.40/£6000MFW 2022 #77 £3740/£3000MFW 2023 #82 £0/£30000 -
I'm not having one mostly because I don't think it would suit me and I'd get annoyed with it in my face.
I'm just having a really pretty side tiara because I think it's more me.
I think MIL2B is a little upset that I'm not having one - she asked me everytime I saw her for about two months if I had decided what veil I wanted - she seems to have stopped now so I think she's got the message

I got a Veil free with my dress (san patrick branded) but i cannot decide to go for or not. I suppose i could just sell it. Will be having a half up down hairdo with a little bun so could just put the comb part behind there. maybe add some bling to the comb.0
