Remortgaging while in probationary work period

Options
Hi,
I am currently with the one account (used it while I was doing a loft conversion on my house) and the interest rates are higher than I want to pay (especially if the interest rate goes up again today). I want to switch mortgages but am in my 6 month probationary period in my new job. I went around a couple of months ago to some banks to see what their rates were and was told they wouldn't accept me while I was in my probationary period - is this generally the case with mortgage lenders?
Never let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.

Providing your income will justify the mortgage amount (and other debts if you have them), there are lenders that could potentially offer you are a mortgage whilst in your probationary period

3.5 times my salary will cover the remortgage - the other thing I am worried about is fees, my current lender will transfer across to a RBOS mortgage with no fees whatsoever but it may be a little bit more on the interest rate than the current best offers, also most fixed rates seem to be for a minimum of 2 years not 1.
