Housing Executive/Homeless Question

This doesnt sound right to me...surely someone with dementia qualifies for more points than 16,in fact they may even qualify as priority.Social Services may be able to give you some info on this.does anyone know how the points system works with NIHE .
A relative off mine has dementia .They own a house outright ,but are trying to move to a fold .
I was told by the housing officer that they would be classes as homeless and therefore given more points ,but this process can take two months .
Two weeks later a letter arrived stating they had been allocated 16 points.0 -
just an update .My relative along with 9 other people where offered a flat in a fold last week .This doesnt sound right to me...surely someone with dementia qualifies for more points than 16,in fact they may even qualify as priority.Social Services may be able to give you some info on this.
The flat was offered to ten people at a time, them if anyone wants it it is allocated to whoever has the most points .Being classed as homeless puts the points way up .If more than one is classed as homeless then its whoever is on the list the longest . So my relative now has a new flat ."Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -
Not sure if the Councils in mainland uk are similiar but thankfully the NIHE here in N.I. are starting to see some sense and might be changing the points system that will suit those in temp accom better and less so for the ones who keep getting 200+ intimidation points which include many who know how to play the system..0
