I bought a Grundig Digi Box (GDT 1500) a couple of years ago. I've been watching the Olympics and a friend said that if you press the red button it will become interactive - you can watch what you want. I've tried it but nothing happens. Has anyone got any ideas? ???

BBC's interactive channels are on channels 701 & 702 normally when you press the red button you get redirected to one of these channels. BBC news 24 interactive channel is on 703. You could try going to the channels directly.0

I read somewhere that if it's Freeview you don't get the same interactive channels as SKY because of the aerial or the amount of stuff you can send down the aerial is limited (that is why BBC Parliament is only 1/2 a picture) - the same on my box - but then again i've saved myself £40 a month not being with SKY.
In fact it could have been on BBC Parliament that I saw the info - see if there uiis an information page on it.**BERTIE**Did you Know: It costs more than £325,000 a day to run the lifeboat service? (with no government funding) Please donate to the RNLI0 -
Hi Jazza,
Gavin is right. Have you got these channels if you haven't scanned for channels since you got your digibox maybe you should try that. I get the Interactive Olympics fine.0 -
Typical_scot - can you get all of the interactive channels and are you on freeview.
Some tv programmes let you 'vote' on things can you do this aswell? 'cos i cant with mine.

The BBC interactive services look identical on Freeview and Sky however they are anything but. For starters the Digital Text on FV is a standard called MHEG and on Sky a standard called OpenTV.
On Sky there is the space for 4 interactive streams from the olympics but on Freeview only 2.
They can be accessed by pressing the Red Button on all MHEG compatible boxes - boxes than can read BBCi/Teletext Channel 9/Teletext on 4 etc. or by going on channel 701/702 (without the text)Alex Jones0 -

Hi Chalky,
It's Freeview I'm on and I get the 3 BBC interactive channels (701, 702, and 703) I haven't used it to vote for things but I did use it a while back on a programme where you had to answer questions within a time limit. I can't remember what the show was called.
Hope this helps.0 -
I'd imagine it was test the nation.
You can't vote for things on Freeview because there is no two-way communication (it isn't plugged into the phone line like Sky or Cable is)Alex Jones0
