When I started comping I didn't get my first win well into 5 months
Just knew if I can make it into a hobby and stick to it the odds would fall into my favour
Be strong
Gary here, fingers crossed for all compers
BEST OF LUCK0 -
It's all luck of the draw.
I've been comping since the end of October and have entered around 2000 comps + the puzzle magazines and advent comps.
I've 3 prizes, £150 selfridges from the Hyundai Advent, an eyeshadow from NOTW (1 of 250!) and last week I won an an iPod Touch from Times+.
Don't get hung up on winning, treat it as a hobby. Most others here will tell you the same.
Fairy dust will arrive..;)Thanks to those that post the comps!!

keep the faith
not all comps are instants wins they dont end straight away so even though you have entered they may still have a while befor end date you never know you still may be luckly.:A
everyone is wonderfull well all most :A0 -
I've had dry months and good months, but it can either happen straight away or not at all (although it often does eventually). You make your own luck I guess. If you aren't in, you can't win! I do think quantity plays some part too, but it depends what you're in to win for...
Keep looking at it as a hobby and it won't become so tiresome. We all get a little despondent some times but you will eventually win something.
To get something out of it I always read the questions and answers carefully; I figure one day I might be so awesome at general knowledge quizes that I could do it for a living lol (yeah right)!Debt Free - Go Me0 -
Thank you so much for your comments ppl .. this is all soo positive and motivating .. hope to have a winning list attached to me soon0

I'm the same salboy, I love this forum too!! Took up comping after I got married, to fill my time, so started in September last year, and so far I've won nothing. Sometimes wonder if it's worth it, but the more I think about it the more I think, I'd rather waste my time entering competitions than waste my time doing nothing
One day our lucks will change!!!
Or so I keep telling myself!!
Good Luck!!!0 -
Keep on going Salboy, it's a numbers game, enter say 150 a week and you are bound to win something. Try to enter the local ones for your area, as in my experience, these are the ones you have the best chance of winning due to far fewer entrants. Good luck!0

Don't give up! I barely had a win last year but in Jan I have had a few good wins.
I focus mainly on facebook and twitter comps as I seem to win more on thoseHoping for some lucky dust!0 -
Don't give up! It was a slow start for me as well but I am amazed now at some of the good fortune I've had.
Keep at it and hopefully you will have some good wins soon!0 -
Hi if you have only just started then a lot of the comps you have entered won't have ended yet. It can sometimes takes companies weeks or months to notify winners. So it can takes weeks or months for a first win. Its all about numbers and patience you need a enter a lot and wait a lot. I am sure your win will come just give yourself time. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Birmingham Childrens Hospital caring for my tiny and very poorly grandson who was born at 29 weeks. Thanks to them he is getting a little stronger every day.:A:A:A0
