I have just ordered an enamel roaster with handles from Amazon. The reason being I need a light one with handles that I can use as a casserole.
Do you think this will be ok for using as a casserole instead of a roaster?
I have had such a job trying to find a lightweight one. It seems to be LE Cruest is the in thing at present but they are far too heavy for me to lift out of a hot oven

I ordered one the same quickly as there was only one left. Please tell me this should be alright
Thanks

I've got two of these, used for roasting, casseroling, rice puddings, crumbles & even no knead bread.Sometimes not moving backwards is as much an achievement as moving forwards is on other times. (originally posted by kidcat)
It's only a bargain if you were going to buy it anyway!0 -
Yes, it will be fine, I know what you mean, some are very heavy, and oven gloves arn't the best thing for grip either :eek:0

Many years ago I brought a slow cooker but could not get on with it so I binned the electrical stand and kept the croc pot that came with it. It is huge and has been marvellous for cooking casseroles in the oven for my family.
However, now that there are only 2 of us and my wrists are not as they were I needed something lighter which was not earthenware.
I will take it to the charity shop as it is a good as when I first brought it but alas too heavy for my0 -

Sorry to drop a bit of drizzle on your parade ... but make sure you don't drop it, as the enamel coating pings off at a rate of knots if you do!
I bought a Judge stainless steel oval roaster and have found that very satisfactory. It isn't especially heavy, looks even better for a few wear and tear scratches and dents, washes up really well and can be used for pretty much anything you would want to do in the oven.0
