can you clarify the spending...are you saying that you have 250 per month to pay off your debts? i.e. everything is included in the 500 to BF..no going out, clothes, books, haircuts , travel ?

Hello there - I don't know if this will help you but my OH got so naffed off with a debt recovery firm hounding him 5,6,7 times a day for two weeks that he rang up the original firm, i.e: Capital one, had a word with them and they were more than happy to have a payment. It was £100 but Oh had great delight telling debt company where to go when they rang. They still tried for the money too, even after he'd paid!

According to your SoA you should have £250 left to pay debts, BUT you haven't included anything for mobiles, transport, clothes, haircuts, Xmas etc. Assuming these are quite low you should have £200 a month to throw at your debts?

What are the APRs on these debts? Generally the rule of thumb is to pay off the highest APR first and make the minimum payments on the rest.

You have £1100 interest free O/D available too, plus £200 a month plus your debts total £2540.67 - depending on APRs, if you use the O/D to clear the loan & Capital One, you'll have £359.33 to put towards the Nationwide debt, then offer them payments of £200 a month - should be clear in 7/8 months. When you get the bank charges back you can use this to pay off most of the RBS O/D.

This is a bit of 'robbing Peter to pay Paul' but if you're strict with yourself then it should be OK. The main issue though is what do you spend the £250 a month on at the moment that you get from your job? Keep a spending diary to track it, and cut out all unneccessary expenditure.

    Good luck!

  • i have a boyfriend that gambles sometimes but i told him if he gets that feeling where he wants to go in and gamble to take 20 ponds in with him and not a penny more and give it to sumone u know that wont give u it back but theres one other thing u can do is just stay clear and never walk past anything that has to do with gambleing cause it only makes things worse. i know u can do it yes its hard at first but it does get easyer.
  • Recieved another letter today - to my current address!!

Poses as a TELEGRAM..and asks me to phone for a buniness message. Pretty sure it is Crapquest.

After reading grumbletext about them I am still unsure what method to take with them.

    Should I phone?
Should I send them a prove it letter?
Do I actually HAVE to pay these cowboys anything?
Should I open back up negotiations with Capital One?
If I did that how do I get Capquest off my back?

    Arghh its so confusing
  • Anyone?
