Wanting to do some work / apprenticeship with plumber

Hi i am starting a city and guilds plumbing course next year in early 2007 and want and need to get some work experience (paid) and/or an appreticeship with a local plumber i have emailed bout 10, 3 out of them have got back and said sorry is there any other way? i am in woking in surrey btw

Dont think e mail is an effective form of contact in this industry mate.
Maybe face to face is a better way and offer yourself as a Saturday worker at first.0
