pig's blood? Anyone found any uk sources?

Hi there, I rang the abbatoire and apparently EEC regs mean that the kit to do it 'properly' is too expensive Has anyone seen any other suppliers? Is there any at your local chinese supermarket?

Yes, I am a strange vegan for knowing this but you can get dried pigs blood rather than fresh. Selling fresh blood to consumers takes a huge amount of red tape for the abbatoirs/butchers but the dried is what most butchers tend to use apparently.

ok so it seems that that would be enough for 300kilos of black pudding and it has a use by date of 24 months. We couldn't eat that much!:D

Have you checked the freezer in your Chinese supermarket? I think they might have some in Wai Yee Hong (the big one in Bristol).
