Best Heat protection spray?

i need a good hair protection spray cos i use my GHDs almost every day and i do have many split ends! Ive got a boots 5 pounds voucher so i would probably buy it from there.

Any ideas?

  • My friend uses Toni & Guy, she likes their products, but she hasn't got GHDs, just some cheapo ones that don't realy reach the high temp that most expensive straightners do.

I recommend Paul Mitchel, but you can't get that from Boots- unfortunatley. I have GHDs and part of my hair is bleached and then dyed red. PM heat defense spray has really made a diff to my hair.

I use Toni & Guy bedhead Head Shine - it is not sold as heat protection spray but my hairdresser recommended it and I have not found anything better.
It is quite expensive but usually save by buying from e-bay

Lee Stafford heat protection spray is brilliant and is sold in Boots. Look for bright pink bottles
  • I have started using Paul Mitchell Super Sculpt which my hairdresser says is a great protection film. I use TQ's which are the same heat as GHDs.

  • I tried the GHD heat protector spray which i bought with the GHD's but it makes my hair hard and it's a bit frightening with all the steam that it creates when i put the straighteners over it....i've gone off straightening my hair as it gets greasy almost straight away, i've never had a problem with greasy hair till i started straigtening it :( any ideas?????

what you could try doing is spray your hair with the protector and wait 2-3 mins till it dries and then straighten it...im always getting steam with my GHDs too...just dont know if my hairs burning...probably is by the state of it:rotfl: :o

And also i got told not to apply so many hair products before straightening such as straightening creams, shine sprays, silky hair sprays etc, i used to do this a lot, used to apply my straightening cream and than my hair wax because i thought my hair was a bit too dry and frizzy and then straighten it with my straighteners (it left my hair greasy)..but what i find with GHDs is that i dont have to apply anything at all (except heat protection) before i straighten my hair.
