playstation/new nintendo console in the canaries

Hi I am off to lanzarote next month and would like to know if anyone can advise on wether or not I can get cheap playstation games and or the new slim console and the new nintendo hand held and if so will they work in the uk

Don't get the new playstation2 it is awful.
the reason it is so slim is because unlike an ordinary console, or a pc, it does not have a fan to cool internal components.
Thus it has a tendency to overheat and blow up, apparently.
I personally would not swap my old ps2 for one of the slim ones, the best buy is a mint condition later version of the original ps2, with the quieter fan. Guide price £80-90

Possible warranty issues with these consoles might include if the warranty is with the retailer in the canaries or sony spain or something???

Personally think you should buy a pre owned one from a reputable games store here in the uk i.e game, or gamestation (or whoever like that is local to you), at least then you have a warranty (usually about 3 months) and there is no issues with this if anything goes wrong.
Game have them second hand for about £89.99 i think.
