I'd send it Customer Services, but not sure what your gripe is. If you took out the insurance and have not had the need to use it, then you can hardly complain about it - that's like any insurance. But if you feel that the thing was mis-sold, then that's another matter. I took out PPI with a lender and asked about stopping it, and was told that it could not be done unless loan was settled or a new loan taken out to repay old one. It was a 7 yr loan and I want to settle loan 3.5 years early, but I don't think they'll offer a part refund on the time I won't be using it. Daylight robbery, but I might contact FSA.

also curious to know what you mean - surely you could also argue you've been paying home insurance for 'no reason' if you've never claimed on it..
  • i was totally mis-sold the PPI. I explained my situation to the person arranging the loan for me. This being that as a serving member of the armed forces should i get sick i still get paid, should i be made redundant or discharged due to medical reasons then my pay out would more than cover the amount of the loan. Should i leave the armed forces then it would be my decision to finish work therefore making the PPI void.

Service Recovery Centre, Lloyds TSB, 125 Colmore Row, Birmingham B3 3SF

Believe it or not Service Recovery Centre is their complaints department.....not the breakdown service!!.....give em a try there.

  • I've recently taken out a loan with Northern Rock and after reading an article on this site, rang to cancel the PPI. I was told they would have to cancel the entire loan and then reapply for a new one, with credit checks etc. As my credit rating wasn't great, they said there's every chance that I would be refused a 2nd time! Basically it's a loophole to keep you paying the high insurance rate for as long as possible. They suggested I apply again in 6 months time. Had I seen this site before I applied for the loan, then I would never have got insurance. I strongly suggest to anyone taking out a loan - don't tick the insurance box!!!! Source your own insurance - so much cheaper. If anyone has any ideas how I can kick these people's a*ses, then do tell!
