TK Maxx giving out free plastic bags again

I was surprised when I went into TK Maxx today to see a sign saying that they were giving out carrier bags for free again. They are going to donate 1p to the Woodland Trust for each customer who refuses a bag but are going to let the customer choose a bag or no bag.

This really surprises me when they say that since they started charging they have given out 73% less bags

I'd noticed the free bags again but haven't heard anything about that charity side of it.

I suppose giving out bags is free advertising for them.
