Think I am getting a bit too much into meal planning, I took some thin steaks and baguette out of the freezer this morning for tea tonight but now we are going out for tea for a family birthday and I am disappointed :rotfl::rotfl: Have been looking fwd to them all day! They will do tomorrow now and at least I have no dishes to do;)

Is it weird that I find this to be perfectly normal behaviour?! :rotfl:0

I'm sure it'll all be fine tomorrow. Enjoy going out tonight! Being too tied to a meal-plan to go out occasionally would be very sad!Resolution:

I'm only on my second week of meal planning but I'm already noticing a weird OS change in me...
Tonight I was making a potato dish with cheese sauce and had some left over. 'Great', I thought 'I'll just boil some pasta and have it as sauce for lunch one day this week'... Then I had to spend 5 mind working out in my head which one of my plans could move to accommodate it!!
Sad, I know0 -

I was talking to DH about exactly this today . I called it 'jigsaw' dinners :-) the left over chicken from Sun became the chicken and mushroom fried rice on Mon. The left over mushroom from that became part of the fajitas today. There is definitely becoming something slightly compulsive about it ...Nothing in it, nothing in it but a ribbon round it .....0 -

Lol to this, I decided to make the Steak & Kidney pie from the Mrs Bridges Recipes (Last weeks Sunday Mail) so saved the beef gravy from Sunday plus the left over Cauli cheese & some left over parsnips to go with the S&K Pie ( & lovley it was) but now left with left over Pasnip & Mash Potato & 1 more portion of S&K pie, have decided to freeze the left over pie and now going to fry up the pots & parsnip mash tomorrow & serve with sausages & baked beans, we were scheduled to have gammon ,pineapple & baked pots LOL.
Isn't life great when it doesn't go to plan LOL.

I deliberately make a weekley meal plan that is a mix of fresh, cook from scratch food and HM ready meals from the freezer. That way, all the fresh food gets eaten up and not wasted, there's room for flexibility if you go out/too busy/too tired and those freezer meals can always be rolled over to another week if not used.0

Hi,
I am obsessed with meal planning. Nearly went into melt down over Christmas because I didnt have my list pinned to the kitchen notice board. I had to swap Monday and Tuesday meals around this week and it just wasnt right.
If you want to set up a support group for meal planning addicts I will be first to join.
On the serious side meal planning is the main reason I have cut £30 a week or over £1500 a year off my grocery spend with very little effort. For anyone in any doubt it really does work.0 -
Meal plans should be adaptable, things can be shifted a day here and there.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.
Encouragement always works better than judgement.0
