If I start rinsing with vinegar instead of fabric conditioner, will I be able to use vinegar on the things which say 'don't use fabric conditioner on this' like my microfibre turban for my hair?Signature removed for peace of mind0

Ive just started to use vinegar in my wash and Im impressesd. Just had a small bottle so used two cap fulls and my clothes have come at as soft/softer as when I used fabric conditioner.
savvysue - I have put my microfibre cloths in with no ill effect0 -
I know most of you are rinsing with vinegar but if like me you're sucker for the smell of alpin meadow or woodland dell and use softener to fragrance your wash, here's a couple of ways to make it go further.
Take one cap full and add to a spray bottle full of water and shake to mix.
If you use a tumble dryer, wet and wring out a face cloth and spray with the softner mix and throw it in with the load. The clothes smell nice and static is reduced.
I follow this tip all the time, but I use a paper towel and give it 4 squirts and it goes in the dryer. Thank you. :money:Time is more valuable than money. You can get more money but you can't get more time0 -
Just got myself some vinegar and have used it instead of fc in the wash, I am just wondering though, how much should I be putting in? I think I might have put too much in, because if I carry on, it won't work out much cheaper than fc so I am probably using too much....
Also I read on here somewhere that you can use vigegar in your dishwasher, can anyone advise me as to how it is used? and how much?

OOh will definately try the eo on the lighbulb tip.. thanks!
I put eucalyptus in a small bowl of water on my sons radiator, it cleans the air and helps with snuffles as well as killing airborne germs. i use lavender in ours as it helps me sleep instead of worrying about how to reduce gas bills!!Keely0 -

It's because fabric softener clogs the microfibres and reduces it's absorbant properties. Vinegar kills soap so it removes any detergent residue, working in a totally different way to fabric softener. You won't damage microfibre with vinegar, trust me!!I like cooking with wine......sometimes I even put it in the food!0 -

I used vinegar in the FC compartment of the washingmachine last week for the first time; put in a glug of about a tablespoon for a full load.0
