Where to do my online grocery shopping?

Usually buy online from asda, but they seem to have gotten rid of the River Cobbler I am fond of
Now I was doing a side by side comparison of asda and sainsbury and S didn't seem to do so bad.
For instance their fish prices were excellent compared to asda, and more variety. Could get tuna steak chunks for a couple of quid which my mum said was very good. I have to say their fish prices were the best I've seen for the product.
Obviously on veg, they were more expensive, eg 9pence more on an Aubergine, but it did kind of equal out. I am also aware that they tend to send you fruit and veg with longer dates on them.I never buy expensive stuff from the small sainsburys on my road, I pop in there sometimes at 2am when I'm hungry (yes I am a student I am nocturnal but thats gone out of the window now)
Point is, does anyone else shop at saisnburys? I've never done an online order with them and If I pay slightly more but get better quality fruit and veg and meat then I'm happy to buy there. But if I'm spending £20 more on a shop than if I'd gone to asda I'd give the quality up

Hi, I used to do an online shop at Sainsburys and was always pretty happy.
I know few years ago there were issues of using to many plastic bags, for instance they used to put the same sort of items together, so if you only bought one tin of something, then you'ed get a bag with one tin in.
I'm pretty sure we were always okay on the dated things as well.
I've read on here that it obviously stops implulse buys as well, if you are prone to this.
Give it a try and see how you get on.0 -

I think you mean farmed 'Vietnamese catfish' or 'Basa' (unless you've fallen for the scam whereby UK supermarkets change the names of fish to hide their less-than appetising real names). It's one up from the laughable 'farm fresh barn eggs'. These fish spend their lives in a (probably putrid) tank and are unlikely to have ever seen a river...and where they got the ludicrous 'cobbler' from is a complete mystery.
There are little or no controls on the production of these fish...certainly none that come up to British standards. Just like in any fish-farm industry, there's a lot of pressure on the farmers to keep the fish healthy by the use of chemicals that I wouldn't want to eat. Little evidence exists that they do, but the absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence, especially in some skanky, unpoliced fish-farm in the back of beyond.

But don't mind me...your children need to eat...I suppose.

Childs not arrived yet!
I usually eat organic food, when I am at the parents I eat nothing but organic, but in Leeds I have to mix and match, tend to buy organic veg as its not toooo much compared to non organic, but I simply can't afford to eat organic fresh fish at the moment! I don't know if River cobble has another name, but my mum is a fan and its one of those reasonably priced fish like the pollock.Money money money.

I found Asda to be over all cheaper but Sainsburys to be a million times nicer! Asda deliveries have been useless at best where as Sainsburys have always been spot on.
However, price wise, i ended up going with Tesco- reliable and slightly cheaper than sainsburys.
IT's hard to compare properly- i'll go for whatever's on special offer which might differ from shop to shop so mysupermarket. com (comparison trolly website!) can't do a proper comparison. Worth checking for yourself now though, just to see.
Also, don't forget to check any topcash back offers etc!
