This is last years news!!!! That number was cut off ages ago.
(ICSTIS), the group that oversees premium rate services in the UK, removed access to this service (which was using up to 20 different phone numbers) on 29 December 2005. (PDS was run through Studio Telecom, a service provider registered in Belize, which had previously been fined and barred by ICSTIS for using misleading direct mail promotions to generate calls to their service.)
Having said that , it does represent a common form of telephone fraud that has been used in the past and will likely be used again, so people are well advised to be aware of it. UK telephone customers who find unexpected premium rate charges on their phone bills can obtain more information by looking up the associated phone numbers via the number checking facility on the ICSTIS web site, and they can file complaints about premium rate services through the ICSTIS' on-line complaint form
http://www.icstis.org.uk/
BT and other suppliers will bar access to premium rate numbers free of charge if you ask them.
Other numbering ranges being used by scammers are those starting 070 (Personal Numbers) they can cost up to £1.50p a minute to call, and 0871 10p a minute number,s.0 -

As a general rule for scams, question anything that asks you to call numbers starting with 090 and 070. Also be wary of 0871... lots of genuine companies use this type of number (even if it is expensive!) and the hoaxers are cottoning on.OU Student! - ED209, SDK125, DSE212, SK124, DSE141, SD226, DXR222, DD303, DD307 = BSc Psychology0
