Zinc Recoveries -- Vodafone debt

Hi all, newbie here!
I've had 2 phone calls from Zinc Recoveries lately. 1 today and 1 about a week ago. Their 1st call was quite bullying, I was told that because I refused to confirm my details over the phone they'd have to 'trace me' which would add extra expense to my debt. They also refused to send me a letter (which I requested them to) because I wouldn't confirm my details on the phone.
However, today I received another call from them with a more pleasant attitude. BUT, they now claim they have sent me 'several' letters which I have not responded to.
I told them on both occasions that CAB was dealing with the case but they only asked CAB to get in touch with them in the lastest call.
Is there anything I 'should have done/can do' to stop them from calling me at home and have they been out of order when they claimed they were adding debt because they had to trace me (I still live at the same address Vodafone have for me)? Also can I request any evidence regarding the letters they obviously have not sent?
Thanks all

Hi BlackAdder,
I can appreciate the concerns you have here and as such would certainly like to offer my assistance with getting this looked into further.
To enable me to do this could you email your details across to me via the Contact us form on our website here and include the code WRT135 - FAO Lee in the subject line?
Once you've sent it you'll receive an automated reply with a reference number. So I can make sure it reaches me could you update the thread with this and I'll get back to you as soon as possible?
Kind regards,
Lee

Good afternoon
I too have had a bill from Zinc recoveries asking for an unpaid bill of nearly a £1000, the odd thing is that I am not a Vodaphone customer0 -

I have had a letter from Zinc this morning claiming to represent Vodafone when I've already had a letter and a phone call from another debt recovery company with whom I'm dealing regarding my debt. I've tried to ring them but the phone keeps going dead. I suspect they're a group of con artists and will be contacting Vodafone to find out. I too am dealing with the CAB who have been fantastic.0

I have today received a letter from Zinc, I promptly phoned them to find myself being put under interigation. The man was rude and threatening! I have since phoned vodafone who were of know help at all as they could not trace me to anything which related to this company, I have since tried to phone Zinc back but its 2 pm and for the last hour their phone has been engaged. Has anyone else had any follow ups from this company since your original contact with them.:mad:0

Never worth trying to deal with debt collection agencies by phone. Its always recommended simply to reply to them with the standard prove it letter and wait from them to provide some proof or details of the debt.
