I just dropped 2 rubbish bags of old alu/copper scrap metal off at scrap dealers that I had lying about and got £34 for it.
If you save all them alu. drinks cans over the year you could get quite a bit back.Just flatten them with your foot when empty and take them to scrap dealer when you want. With price of metal the cans are worth over 1p each and soon mount up.Make sure they are alu and not steel though[most coke are alu.yet pepsi are steel].You can tell if they are alu if they have a shiny base/alu symbol and do not stick to magnets. If you wanna earn even more do a bit of litter clearing as you walk the streets.

At 1p per can you will have to have bought 100 cans just to get £1 back.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

If you've got the space, instead of putting them out with the recycling just keep them stored. You've got no extra outgoings and it doesn't take long to squash a can and shove it in a box.
I'm doing this right now, we don't drink an awful lot of cans but whatever I get will be a bonusThe debtWILLbegone - taking it 1% at a time

I'm glad you included the word "diet" otherwise your post takes on a whole new meaning.
If you believe you could make £100 pa, that means you drink 10k cans a year, almost 30 a day!!!If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
Totally agree with this post. We take a carrier bag out with us each evening dog walking and pick up some (by all means not all) cans we spot. Normally after 45mins we have filled a carrier bag.
Its free money and we get to help our local environment a little by being choked less from the unthoughtful members of our society.
Yes we only tend to pick up when 'no-ones watching'. But 50p a night all helps!!
We have found some Pepsi (not all) and some Carling cans aren't aluminium.
Good luck all0 -
Hi, can anyone tell me how to find whereabouts in my area to take these cans where i will be paid
thanks0 -

I'm assuming you have to go to your local scrap merchants and ask if they will take them (and what they will pay).
We recycle all our metal cans - but they're mainly food tins (baked beans, tomatoes etc) does anyone know are these still as recyclable as drinks cans?0 -

You're certainly helping the environment if you can find that many discarded cans in that short time span! Well done!If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
