were to get a spreadsheet

my wife and i do my tax return each year ,, how ever the last retun we did we just added up the incoming and out goings on a calculator,, we ended up double checking then making a mistake,, and what should have been easy ,, became hard,,, on my old computer we had some simple spreadsheet which were on word??? you put in all your ins or outs and it totaled them for you dead simple and anything you needed to add you just added,,,,, this is all we need nothing more realy,, my wife suggests we need a expensive program,,, which well never work out ,,, sooo can any one tell me were i can down load something incredibly simple to get us started with next years tax,,, ps i may have something on my current computer but not being well up on these thing cant find it???

  • We don't know what's on your computer - but it will be Excel that you are looking for.

    In the absence of this, open office [for free] will give you a spreadsheet that is more than adequate for your use.
    If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

    Best bet is get an accountant - it will get done right and you will find all the proper allowances are claimed. Sounds to me as though you are a sole trader not vat registered so I would typically charge £175 a year for that if that helps you make a decision
  • You can get templates for self-employed people for £13+ VAT from here. You'd need Excel or OpenOffice as well.
