if you earn good dough why can't you save money or just give her the surplus to pay her debts?
    how much does she owe
    how much do you owe

    she owes about 8k

it will take a while to pay that off i could pay bit off it yeah but would prefer it all wiped off

i owe about 1500 on the cards

i also have ajob that will give me a bonus at xmas that willbe 6k plus so the lot will be done by then bbut she is worried a bit - we only just got back together

Taking a loan isn't going to wipe the debt off - just move it.

I'm surprised that someone who has been through an IVA now has credit card debts and is considering a further loan - it seems like slipping back down the slope.

Christmas bonus is a long way off and a lot can happen between now and then with all sorts of things including job security.

If you want to please her, pay down your credit card and give her something towards her own payments.

    Sorry to sound so negative.

Until you are clearing your Vanquis and Capital One cards in full each month, I'd stay clear of getting any more debt. The interest rates on those two aren't the best and you must be leaking quite a bit of money between them.

Get your own house back in order first and then think about helping out your OH.

Yep, a balance on a Vanqp*ss card is not the best way to go, I would clear that puppy.

After all is said and done even a "proper" credit card is just an instrument which potentially could lead to "proper" debt.
