whats classed as business milleage

Options
my husband has a company van for his job as a builder. He pays all the fuel himself and the van (with very occasional excpetions) is used for only bsiness travel.
He does not get any millage/fuel allownace from his enployer, and i was wondering if he was able to claim any back via a self assesmetn.

As a builder he does not have a permenant place of work and rarely spends more than a couple of months working at an individual address. On some days he can end up travelling between 2 or 3 jobs. Does anyone know where in this situation "normal commutin" ends and business milleage begins. In other words what if any of this would he be able to try and claim back for?

Well if his "principal place of business" is your home, in my view all of his trips to and between customers is business travel and hence a claimable expense.
