Hi there,
I hope this is the right board for this.
I am looking to get some clear or invisible braces to straighten my teeth for a reasonable price under 2k. Has anyone got any recommendations?
I have googled this but would like to hear peoples experience and how cheap it can be.
Thanks in advance.

I'd suggest a consultation with a good orthodontist and taking it from there! No one knows what will work for your particular problems from reading a post on an Internet thread.
Fwiw I started off with invisalign which didn't work as they were supposed to. My dentist refunded me most of the money I'd paid for this and my new ortho treated me with an in man aligner and clear plastic braces similar to invisalign, which worked quite well. Cost closer to 3k than 2 though but that probably depends on how much work you need done and where you are having the treatment. I am in London which is probably the most expensive place to be!0 -
thanks for the quick response i am in London too0

I used the London Smile Clinic (the second time) and found them excellent, if you decide to go down the route of a consultation. Or their website is quite informative as to options and costs.0

Just to reiterate most clear brace systems are quite limited as to what tooth movement they can achieve.
You are best off seeing an orthodontist to see what the best system for you may be. Invisilign in particular has very high laboratory fees depending on complexity and so especially in London you will probably not see much change from £2500 for a simple case.0 -
I'm just about to finish with invisalign. My teeth were pretty bad really - I needed six attachments on my bottom teeth and originally had 18 upper aligners and 24 lower ones. When I reached the end of treatment the bottom ones still werent right so I have had 10 more lower ones (but there is no extra cost for this). Have to say the results are now stunning! Uppers and lowers both perfect - well as near as makes no difference. I have three more weeks to go and I'll be finished. I think about £3000 is more standard than £2000, but you dont have to pay up front, I pay another installment whenever I go back for a check up.0

I have Invisalign I started in October and roughly have another 12 weeks to go. I went to a dentist in Liverpool who charged a standard fee of £3000 when I got home from that appointment I googled cheap invisalign and there were many clinics in London who were doing Invisalign for £1000 I found one closer to home for me well it's a 70 mile round trip for me but this place is in Chester, I went in August and started the process it's costing me in total £1695 that is including teeth whitening at the end of the treatment a retainer fitted or one that you put in at night and also check ups for 12 months afterwards. I am having to have 15 uppers and 12 lowers.
I have googled it for you, it looks like bridgedental are doing a good deal.

Hi there, I am half was through using Invisalign and so far I'm overjoyed at the results. Have about 6 months left but the difference is drastic to me already. Hve one tooth that might cause a problem in turning that I can see but when I think of how bad they were to start with it's not a big concern. I had one front tooth sticking out as I'd sucked my thumb until I was a teenager and now the front 4 almost line up. After I've finished it should be almost straight as I always hoped, not far off it now!
I'm 36 and wish I'd done it years ago. I paid £2350.00 in West London for mine and that covers all refinements and whitening at the end of treatment I might need to get it as close to perfect as can be. I HATED the attachments though. They are the little blobs which are cemented onto your teeth to help turn/move your teeth. Not everyone needs them and we all have them in different places depending on what's to be done. Mine were on 8 of my top teeth and so obvious that I felt sick at times looking at myself but for the 8 months I had to wear them, it was worth it nowMy next 6 months are free of the attachments at the front, I only have them on my side teeth so not nearly as obvious.
You get used to the routine and the ache when you put new sets in every two weeks. All in all I'd recommend getting them. I think I'll have had about 30 something uppers and can't remember how many lowers but less by the time I've finished and will need to wear a retainer at night for life to stop them moving back. I'll probably go for a fixed retainer after a while so I don't have to worry about that any more.
Any questions fire away0 -
:DHi Ya im just coming to the end of my invisalign too and I just wanted to come on here and say how well it has worked! I went to Tracey Bell Clinic in liverpool and cant thank them enough the treatment has changed my whole face better than a facelift! well worth the money - it was £3000 but i was able to pay half and then in installments per set of braces as they were fitted so it was easier on my pocket. life is much better when you can smile confidently and you cannot put a price on that!!
