The way I see the new rules, as this has a fixed end date, it is correct for it to be posted here on the main board and should have a link pointing to here in the dailies (as it is daily entry).
If that is correct, perhaps the existing post in dailies should be amended to only being a link to this thread?

31/12 is not a true end date as they change it every year to the 31/12 of the current year. previously it was 31/12/09 then 31/12/10 which is why when there was no current link i reposted it as ongoing. also the prize changes weekly, so the op mentioning this weeks prize will an expired comp next week since others with out of date prizes are considered expired comps.

I am pleased to hear someone has won in spin the bottle comp. I enter it every time i get an e mail from them and I always get the same results in the same order every time ie not a winner and better luck next time seems like a fix to me!

ive won cereal a couple of times, and i know the big prize has been won by mse people before
it did take almost a year of playing every day before i won cereals though.

This is what i don't get see if it's already posted in regulars then surely it's a dupe as there are now 2 posts and a link?

I am only saying what I think the new rules say.

The first poll result said. "All regular comps with end date stay on main board but posters then post link on the regulars board"
and the Regular comp poll said "A regular competition is one that Can be entered on a daily/weekly/ monthly basis with fixed answers for the duration or different answers which can be updated as & when"

As this can be entered daily and has no answer, so that part is irrelevant, this should be classed as a Regular Comp and as it does have an End Date, (specified in the T&C's as 30/12/11) then it should be posted on the main board with a link in the regulars. The rules as set down make no mention of whether or not the prize changes.
I am not saying I agree with this, just my interpretation of the rules. It seems the rules are still not clear.

Your right Darren, at the moment there is a duplicate as both posts have direct links and the new "rules" say that one of these should not have a direct link to the comp but only a link to the other post. This is why I said the post in dailies should have it's link changed to point to this thread.
However, purplecatlover's post shows that it is still not completely clear which one should be on which board.
As I understand merging (but I could be wrong), if these two are merged this one will move to the regulars, as the one in regulars has the earliest posting date. BUT is that where it should be or not??

Edit: Whoops, I see it has now been merged and is all in regulars. As I see the new rules, this is not following them but I don't really mind either way.

ive just won cereal again....second time this month.

the end date changing every year confuses things. if its moved to main then come 31/12 it will yet again be sent to game over. it was suggested that links to game over threads were not acceptable hence my reposting a few. andrea needs to come back and clarify things...prefably in consultation with the board guides so we can all figure out what goes where etc.


the E:31/12 that got merged would have been missed by anyone who doesnt use the dailies and enters by end date unless they religiously go through every single month every time they enter E31. having it posted every week with new weeks end date and new prize means numerous unnecessary extra threads imo. like ive said though...if thats the way people want to go then so be it....will save gill and ppd work in adding things to those threads and ill simply direct link to sites in dailies, or leave it as an old thread so long as the link still works. there are work arounds.....

and as far as that goes, the thread that got merged would have been seen as out of date and not current as soon as the new week started since the title/details of first post are also considered by many as dead if the prize has changed (it seems). so leaving it on main, even though end date would still be intact, people would still repost every week/month/whenever they felt like it as they are doing atm with other comps.
