Tax Code query with an underpayment from previous year

in Cutting tax
I am totally confused over my tax code for 2010/11. I have medical insurance (£228) and an underpayment from previous tax year (£89 gym membership) so my tax free amount was £6475 - £228 - £89 = £6158. However, I still had gym membership (£557 on my 0910 P11D), so my tax code was amended in Dec 2010 to £6475 - 468 - 89 - 228 = 5690. Now I have another new code issued in January where the £89 underpayment no longer appears but was included in my tax code until Dec 2010 so does this mean that the underpayment has now been paid? It now shows as £6475 - 468 - 228 = £5779 or do I need to notify them it is wrong?
Also I no longer have the gym membership, only the medical insurance of £228 so does this mean that from April my new tax code will be £6475 - £228. Will any monies owed by me have been paid by then?

first of all contact your employer and ask what the benefit for 10/11 should be for all your benefits. Then contact HMRC to enquire why the underpayment for earlier years has been removed. You can then also advise them what the correct figures are for 10/11 and inform them that the gym membership has ceased so that your 11/12 code can be updated.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.
