in Cutting tax
I have been working part time (12 hours a week average on 2 hours 6 days a week)
since september
i was being taxed since then and 2 payments ago i went to the tax office (i get payed monthly) and got my tax code sorted because i was obviously on the wrong one
they told me they would send me a letter wiht my new tax code and also send one to my employer, after they change it i should get my tax back (around 250 pounds now)
the past two payments i have been taxed on with the same tax code as before (so it hasnt changed) do i contact the tax office and get it sent again or do i contact work, woudl i be able to hand in the letter they gave me with my new tax code?
it did worry me when they payed me 40 pounds one month but corrected it after phoneing them the next day with a cheque
(they told em it would be a bank transfer and that i would have to wait days for it to show up, after days i called and they said they sent a cheque and to look for it in the mail i found out that the cheque wasnt even SENT until later that day so they arent the most trustworthy payroll department)
anyway i just want to know who to contact or what i have to do to get my tax code sorted

I think it is your Employers payroll you should be getting onto.
they should have received your coding notice from HMRC and should now be using it.
Talk to payroll , maybe they are just a bit slow at doing this and you are due the rebate in your next pay.The loopy one has gone :j0
